FAQs

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a conscious and dynamic relationship that helps the client focus on both personal and professional vision and goals. Through the coaching process, clients gain a greater sense of their values, what drives them, and what’s really important. It is through this awareness that clients make informed decisions about how they want to live, work and be in the world- decisions that both create new possibilities and at the same time more fully sustain themselves and their families. Coaching can be very helpful for people as they consider life and work transitions, how to bring the different aspects of their life into alignment, take on increasing leadership responsibilities, get out of ruts and old patterns, and imagine a life more full of joy and contentment.

How is coaching done?

Typically, individual coaching is done by telephone, for two 45 – 60 minute sessions each month. A  four-month commitment is suggested in order to allow clients to uncover and pursue the life changes they are seeking and that resonate.

Is coaching therapy?

No, coaching is not therapy. You will find that coaching focuses on strategic planning and personal growth. It helps you to find what’s important to you now, in this moment, and uncover and act on that new information. Coaching does not attempt to heal emotional trauma. Coaches regularly refer clients to other professionals for issues that are better suited to a therapeutic relationship.

What is a typical session like?

The core of coaching is self-responsibility. The client sets the agenda for the call and the coach follows that agenda. You can expect clarifying and engaging questions that make you think, support with creating and fine-tune planning tools, as well as establishing clear and measurable accountability. As your coach, Adele has high expectations of you and supports you thoroughly.

What does it cost to hire a coach?

The cost of coaching varies from coach to coach.  Think about a serious challenge that you have been confronting in your life that you would like to unlock. Now think about how much it would be worth to be able to get to the other side of that challenge. You are invite to come to the introductory session with that in mind as the starting point for working something out.  Clients are asked to make a minimum four-month initial commitment to coaching. After that time the commitment can be re-nogtiated  as needed or desired.

How do I get started?

Email Adele to arrange a sample coaching session, and to talk about whether coaching is right for you. If the chemistry is right, and you decide you want to move on to the next step, we’ll schedule your discovery session. A discovery session is where you choose the main goal that you want to work on. The discovery session typically lasts one hour. A couple days later, you’ll receive a packet which includes some self-assessment and planning tools that will help in understand what barriers you want to move past, what motivates you, and what type of support you would like.
